Orlando Pirates and Vodacom Empower Township Learners with AI & Big Data

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Orlando Pirates, in partnership with mobile communications giant Vodacom, successfully hosted an innovative Learner Day focused on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data at the Orlando Amstel Arena Learning Centre. The event underscored the club’s commitment to education and community upliftment through technology.

The program brought together Grade 8 and Grade 9 learners from local schools for an immersive, hands-on experience. By simplifying complex technologies, the initiative aimed to demystify AI and Big Data while bridging the digital divide in township communities.

Learners participated in interactive workshops that explored how AI powers everyday applications and how Big Data is shaping industries worldwide. These sessions were designed to spark curiosity and inspire young minds to see technology as a tool for innovation and opportunity.
