SAFA and Bafana Bafana players sign Memorandum of Agreement

Bafana Bafana players and the South African Football Association (SAFA) agreed on the team’s bonuses for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ronwen Williams, Percy Tau, Siyanda Xulu, Veli Mothwa and Themba Zwane, who represented Bafana Bafana players, signed the memorandum on behalf of the team that is going to participate in Ivory Coast this month.

“Bafana Bafana will fare well in this edition of the AFCON and we are happy that this side of the game is now laid to rest,” SAFA President Dr. Danny Jordaan told SAFA Media via their website.

“We have discussed and signed an agreement, which remains confidential between management and players. We are now fully focused on the tournament, on doing well at the AFCON.”

The meeting was also attended by SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao, SAFA Vice President Bennett Bailey, and the HOD David Molwantwa.

“We are happy that we could meet with the players, hear them out and come to an agreement on the financial side,” added SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos and his charges are currently in camp in Stellenbosch preparing for the tournament.

South Africa have been drawn into Group E alongside neighbours Namibia, Mali as well as Tunisia.
