PSL confirms leadership change in prosecutor role

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced a key change in its judicial leadership, confirming that Zola Majavu’s term as Independent League Prosecutor will conclude at the end of January 2026.

Majavu’s Tenure Ends

Majavu, who has overseen disciplinary matters with competence and integrity, received warm appreciation from League leadership for his service. His tenure was marked by consistency and professionalism, strengthening the PSL’s reputation for fair governance.

Continued Role in Licensing

Although stepping down from the prosecutor’s office, Majavu will remain involved in the League’s structures. He will continue to serve on the First Instance Body, the panel tasked with adjudicating club licensing applications each season.

New Appointment

The PSL has confirmed the appointment of Advocate Pumzo Mbana of the Johannesburg Bar as the new Independent League Prosecutor. Mbana, who brings extensive experience in sports law, has previously served with distinction on the League’s Judicial Tribunals. His appointment signals continuity and a renewed focus on maintaining integrity in the League’s disciplinary processes.
