Jayden Adams red card rules him out of Betway Premiership action

Mamelodi Sundowns will be forced to make changes in midfield when they face ORBIT College FC in the Betway Premiership at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg, North West, this Tuesday. Jayden Adams, a key figure in the Brazilians’ engine room, begins a two-match suspension after being shown a straight red card in last week’s 2-1 victory over Golden Arrows at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

The suspension applies only to domestic fixtures, meaning Adams will miss the clash against ORBIT College FC and the following Betway Premiership encounter. However, he remains eligible for the CAF Champions League, where Sundowns continue their pursuit of continental success.

The CAF Champions League quarter-finals kick off this weekend, with Mamelodi Sundowns hosting one of Mali’s most successful football clubs, Stade Malien de Bamako, on Friday, 13 March 2026 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Adams’ absence on Tuesday opens the door for other midfielders to step up, with Sundowns boasting depth in their squad. Whether the Portuguese manager opts for experience or gives younger players a chance, the team will need to adapt quickly to maintain momentum in both league and continental campaigns.
