Hugo Broos explains Bafana Bafana squad choices ahead of Panama friendlies
Addressing the media at the SABC Studios on Thursday, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos unveiled a 23-man squad designed to test South Africa’s mettle against Panama in Durban and Cape Town later this month.
The selection marks a high-stakes rehearsal for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, that will take place from 11 June to 19 July 2026, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, highlighted by the vital return of veteran playmaker Themba Zwane and the inclusion of rising star Relebohile Mofokeng to provide creative spark.
