Chippa United Shift Home Fixtures to Dobsonville Stadium Amid Renovations
Chippa United have officially confirmed that their next two Betway Premiership home matches will be staged at the iconic Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto. Chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi announced the temporary relocation as the club’s primary home venues, including the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, undergo pitch renovations and rehabilitation. The decision ensures continuity for the team while honoring Dobsonville’s rich football heritage.
The move is not only logistical but symbolic. By hosting matches at Dobsonville, Chippa United aim to pay tribute to the proud local legacy left behind by Moroka Swallows, a club synonymous with Soweto’s football culture.
