The City of Joburg has announced special Rea Vaya bus services for the much-anticipated clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 15 August 2026. Fans across Johannesburg will have access to convenient routes connecting major suburbs and the inner city directly to the stadium.
Travelers from Sandton and Alexandra can use T4a buses, connecting at Library Gardens to event service buses bound for FNB Stadium. Those coming from Milpark, Auckland Park, Westbury, and Noordgesig along Empire and Perth Roads will rely on T3 buses, linking at Orlando Stadium station. Fans from Yeoville and Parktown can board F11 and F12 buses to Library Gardens East, then connect to event service buses westbound to the stadium.
Supporters from Soweto and Dobsonville (Indingilidzi) will benefit from direct event service buses to FNB Stadium, while those from Florida North and Newlands can use C5 buses, connecting via Helen Joseph station to Orlando Stadium before boarding event service buses. Similarly, fans from Cresta and Windsor West will travel on C4 buses to UJ Sophiatown station, then connect to T3 and onward to Orlando Stadium. Areas such as Lea Glen, Fleurhof, Amalgam, Bosmont, and Riverlea will be served by F6 and F7 buses, while Greymont commuters can use F8 buses to Helen Joseph station before connecting to Orlando Stadium.
A secure park-and-ride facility will be available at Johannesburg Stadium, where fans can park their cars and board trunk event buses from Ellis Park North station to FNB Stadium. This service is free of charge, ensuring safe and easy access for supporters driving into the city. The city has emphasized that fans should arrive early, as no alcohol will be permitted on buses or at stations, and services will run at high frequency before and after the match.
Travel cards are available for R30.00 at all Rea Vaya stations, allowing fans to load funds for return trips and future travel. Fares are set at R14.00 from Thokoza Park (Soweto) and Park Station, while journeys from Sandton and Alexandra cost R19.00. However, feeder buses in Soweto — including F1 (Naledi), F2 (Protea Glen), F3 (Jabavu), F4 (Mofolo/Boomtown), F5 (Eldorado), F9 (Mapetla), and F10 (Pimville) — remain suspended, with the city apologizing for the lack of services.
