Lebogang Maile Rallies Behind Bafana Bafana Ahead of Crucial Guinea Test
The build-up to Bafana Bafana’s opening Africa Cup of Nations qualifier received a significant boost after Lebogang Maile, Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, paid a visit to the national team camp. The visit was aimed at motivating the players and reinforcing the importance of representing the country with pride as they prepare for a challenging encounter against Guinea.

“We reminded the players, some of whom are products of our Schools of Specialisation, that talent alone is not enough; it must be accompanied by discipline and dedication,” Maile added. His message reflected the values he believes are essential for sustained success in both sport and life.
The MEC also offered words of encouragement to Pitso Mosimane, who has returned to lead the national team. Maile expressed confidence in the coach’s ability to guide the squad and manage the diverse challenges that come with leading a national side.
“Best wishes to the team and to Coach Pitso, who understands that it is not only talent that is being coached, but young people from varying backgrounds,” he said. The statement underlined the broader role national team coaches play in shaping character as well as football development.
