MTN8 Final Ticket Rush Set to Begin as PSL Confirms Moses Mabhida Showpiece Details

Football fans looking to secure their seats for one of the biggest matches on the South African football calendar will need to move quickly when tickets for the 2026 MTN8 final go on sale this Friday. The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that supporters can begin purchasing tickets from 10:00am on Friday, 02 October 2026, ahead of the highly anticipated clash between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The showpiece final will take place at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, 10 October 2026, with kick-off scheduled for 18h00. The encounter will bring together two of the country’s most successful clubs in a match expected to attract a capacity crowd.

According to the PSL, general admission tickets will cost R150 each and will be sold exclusively through the official Open Tickets platform. The league has urged supporters to use only the authorised ticketing website to avoid disappointment and potential fraud.

In detailing the sales process, the PSL announced that tickets will be available online only through www.opentickets.co.za. The league expects heavy demand as fans of both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns race to secure their spots for the eagerly awaited final.

The PSL has also encouraged supporters to prepare before entering the online purchasing system. In its official ticket information notice, the league advised fans to “have your banking card ready” and ensure sufficient funds are available before attempting to complete a transaction.

An online queuing system will be implemented when ticket sales open. The PSL noted that “an online queuing system will be in place when ticket sales open,” helping to manage the expected surge of supporters trying to purchase tickets simultaneously.

Fans have also been reminded that there will be a limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased. The PSL confirmed a “maximum of four tickets per person per transaction,” a measure aimed at giving more supporters an opportunity to attend the final.

Once supporters place tickets in their shopping carts, they will need to act quickly. The league highlighted that there will be a “10-minute payment window” and warned that fans must complete payment within that time to secure their tickets.

The PSL further stressed that “every person, including children, must have a valid ticket to enter the stadium.” Supporters planning to attend with family members have therefore been encouraged to ensure that every individual has a ticket before arriving at the venue.

Hospitality packages will also be available for fans looking for a premium matchday experience. Meanwhile, the PSL has cautioned supporters to “buy only via the official Open Tickets platform” and avoid purchasing tickets from unauthorised third parties as excitement builds for the MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 10 October 2026.
