Pitso Mosimane Names Final Bafana Bafana Squad for AFCON Qualifiers
Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has announced his final 27-man squad for South Africa’s crucial November 2026 double-header against Kenya in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The squad was unveiled on Thursday, 5 November 2026, at the SABC studios in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, as South Africa continues its quest to secure qualification for the continental showpiece.
Bafana Bafana will host Kenya at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday, 13 November 2026, before travelling to Nairobi for the return fixture on Tuesday, 17 November 2026. The two matches could play a decisive role in determining South Africa’s qualification hopes.
Adding extra spice to the encounter is the touchline battle between Mosimane and Kenyan head coach Benni McCarthy. The former Bafana striker, now leading the Harambee Stars, will face fellow South African football icon Mosimane in what promises to be one of the standout coaching duels of the qualifying campaign.
With qualification points at a premium, Mosimane has selected a squad that blends experienced internationals with exciting young talent. Captain Ronwen Williams leads the team, while the likes of Teboho Mokoena, Iqraam Rayners, Lyle Foster, Relebohile Mofokeng, and Oswin Appollis are expected to play key roles over the two matches.
South Africa will be aiming to make a strong statement on home soil before facing a difficult away challenge in Nairobi against a determined Kenyan side eager to keep its own qualification ambitions alive.
Kick-off for the first clash is scheduled for 18:00, with supporters expected to create a vibrant atmosphere as Bafana Bafana look to take a significant step towards securing their place at AFCON 2027.
Tickets for the match are available through Ticketpro, with adults paying R100 and children aged between five and 12 able to attend for R40.
