Sixteen South African Superfans set for 2026 FIFA World Cup adventure

In a landmark moment for South African football culture, Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie has officially unveiled the names of the 16 lucky fans who will represent the nation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. The announcement celebrates the passion and diversity of supporters across the Betway Premiership, bringing together fans from clubs big and small for a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience.

The selected group features a vibrant mix of loyal supporters from across the country, each chosen for their dedication to the game and their clubs. Notably, due to a lack of submissions from Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City, the Minister reallocated those spots to the “Big Three”Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, and Mamelodi Sundowns—ensuring the full contingent of sixteen was met.
