Kaizer Chiefs welcome back Bheki Shongwe as new Group Chief Executive Officer

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the appointment of Bheki Shongwe as the club’s new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), effective May 2026.

Shongwe is a familiar figure within the Amakhosi family, having served as a non-executive director on the current Board of Directors while successfully managing his own businesses. He previously held the position of Managing Director of the club between 2009 and 2012, giving him extensive knowledge of the organisation and its operations. This experience makes him well-suited to lead Chiefs into the future.

In his new role, Shongwe will oversee the day-to-day running of the club, reporting directly to Chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung and the board, while working closely with departmental heads. Importantly, he will also assist Dr Motaung with the overall management of the organisation, ensuring that Kaizer Chiefs continues to thrive both on and off the field.

The club expressed its delight at Shongwe’s return, welcoming him back to the Amakhosi fold and wishing him success in his new role. His leadership is expected to play a key part in building on the proud legacy of 56 years and guiding Chiefs toward a modernised and competitive future.
