Kaizer Chiefs Confirm Given Msimango Departure to Stellenbosch FC

Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the permanent transfer of defender Given Msimango to Western Cape side Stellenbosch FC. The move marks the end of Msimango’s three-year spell at Naturena, where he established himself as a reliable presence in Amakhosi’s backline.

In their statement, Chiefs said: “Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has also joined Stellenbosch FC. Msimango, who joined Chiefs from TS Galaxy ahead of the 2023/24 season, made a strong impact during his time at Naturena. The 29-year-old international featured in 53 official matches across all competitions, bringing leadership and consistency to Amakhosi’s backline. We thank him for his contribution and wish him all the best!”

Msimango’s departure is seen as a significant gain for Stellenbosch, who continue to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season. Known for his composure, aerial strength, and leadership qualities, the centre-back is expected to play a key role in guiding the Maroons’ younger players while adding stability to their backline.

The 29-year-old’s move also reflects Stellenbosch’s ambition to compete at the highest level, with his experience across Highlands Park, TS Galaxy, and Chiefs bringing valuable depth to the squad. For Chiefs, the transfer signals a period of transition as the club reshapes its defensive unit under head coach Fernando Da Cruz.

Msimango leaves Naturena with the respect of teammates and supporters, having embodied professionalism and commitment during his time in Gold & Black. His consistency and leadership were hallmarks of his tenure, and his departure has been met with warm messages of appreciation from fans.

As he begins his new chapter in Stellenbosch, Msimango will look to make an immediate impact in the Western Cape. His arrival is expected to bolster the Maroons’ ambitions for the season, while his legacy at Chiefs remains intact as a player who gave his all and departed with dignity.
