Golden Arrows Part Ways With Pitso Dladla Despite Top-Eight Position
Golden Arrows have officially parted ways with head coach Pitso Dladla with immediate effect, bringing an end to his tenure at the Durban-based club after the opening stages of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
The club confirmed the decision in a brief statement on Wednesday, revealing that both parties had reached a mutual agreement to separate. “Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club and Coach Pitso Dladla have agreed to part ways effective immediately,” the club announced.
Golden Arrows also took the opportunity to acknowledge Dladla’s contribution during his time in charge. The club thanked the coach for his efforts, commitment and dedication throughout his spell at the helm.
The decision comes with Arrows occupying eighth position in the Betway Premiership standings after eight league matches. While the team remained inside the top half of the table, results and performances appear to have fallen short of expectations.
Dladla’s side managed just one victory from their opening eight league fixtures. In addition to the solitary win, Arrows recorded five draws and suffered two defeats, highlighting a campaign that was characterized by a lack of consistency.
One of the biggest challenges for the team this season has been their struggles in front of goal. Golden Arrows scored only three goals in eight league matches, making them one of the lowest-scoring teams in the division.
Defensively, however, Arrows remained relatively solid. The club conceded just four goals during their eight Betway Premiership outings, a record that suggested defensive organization was not the primary concern.
Attention will now turn to who will take charge of the club moving forward as Arrows look to build on their top-eight position and improve their attacking output. The club is yet to announce who will oversee the team on an interim or permanent basis following Dladla’s departure.
