Stellenbosch FC sign Darrel Matsheke on a free transfer

Stellenbosch Football Club have completed the signing of former Uthongathi FC and Moroka Swallows midfielder Darrel Matsheke.

Stellenbosch FC’s statement, posted on social media, said: “We are delighted to announce that the club has acquired the services of midfielder Darrel Matsheke.”

Stellenbosch FC Head Coach Steve Barker said: “Darrel adds quality and depth to our midfield positions, specifically as a defensive midfielder.

“He is technically sound, plays with a lot of energy and intensity, and has the ability to break down attacks, and once he has done that he has the ability to then progress the ball either through the quality of his passing or by carrying the ball.

“We welcome him to the SFC family and are confident that he will add much value to our squad.”
